Nursing in schools

Earthquake Drill I’ve been a pediatric nurse for almost 19 years. I’ve worked on a medical floor, in a gastroenterology clinic, and I’m now nursing in a school. School nursing is a 180 degree turn from nursing in a hospital or clinic. I changed to schools because I wanted to be on the same schedule as my kids. I felt like time was flying by way too quickly, and I was missing a lot of it. It was one of the best decisions of my life. Also one of the craziest. I am in a middle school. A middle school, you guys. These kids are a hot mess. Thankfully, so am I. Turns out, I fit right in. I love them. They’re crazy. I get eye rolls at home all the time. Now, I have the chance to experience those eye rolls every day of my life. How lucky am I??? This is my third year in the schools, and I love it. It has been a struggle.
